The Kayak Outpost

There's so much to love about the Outpost Adventure Park! The open-air pavilion is stylish and features plenty of comfy seating. You can meet up with friends and neighbors to catch up and let the kids play. Or even just head over with a good book to enjoy the scenery! There's also a built-in firepit, perfect for roasting s'mores and telling stories around the fire.

Just around the corner from the Outpost, the Kayak Launch awaits! The Kayak Launch is one of the most unique amenities at Shearwater - you won't find something like this just anywhere! This launch provides direct access to the much-loved Trout Creek, which connects to the St. Johns River. Residents can launch their kayaks and canoes to paddle the afternoon away. Or, pack up some bait and a fishing rod to cast a line from your kayak. You never know what you might hook! The best part? Residents can access it all without leaving the community. So, forget dragging everything to the car only to wait in traffic to get there - living in Shearwater makes it easy and convenient.

Har-Tru Clay & Watering:

The Shearwater tennis courts are designed using Har-Tru Clay. To ensure the integrity of these courts, we ask that all players use only smooth sole tennis shoes during play.

In order to provide the best surface for play, the Har-Tru Clay must be watered frequently. Paired with everyday use and regular maintenance, the material will bind, creating a smooth and comfortable playing experience.
Har-Tru Clay is fast drying material, but we ask that you please refrain from playing on drenched courts.

Community Gardens:

Shearwater's community garden is where residents of all ages gather to grow their own fruit, herbs, and vegetables. It's here where families can use their own two hands to contribute to a sense of community and connect with the environment.

The community garden beds are cared for by individual gardeners. To nurture the hard work and dedication put into these plots, please enjoy the beauty of the garden from the paths.

Let's cultivate beautiful gardens and strong community bonds together!

Please refrain from picking anything from the beds.

  • Add your food scraps and yard waste to the community compost bin. Organic material is always needed and welcomed to create rich compost for all to use. Learn how to compost using our community compost bin.

  • Enjoy fruit from the four community citrus trees. These trees are available for all residents to enjoy, but please make sure the fruit is ripe before picking, and always share with your neighbors!
